Caffe` Latte` looks back on each set of 100 chart topping singles, beginning in 1940 to 2013.
Part 9: 801- 900 (2000 - 2005)
The first years of the 21st century saw a great diversity of styles and sounds in the songs Australian music buyers took to the top of the charts.
Pink, Eminem, the Black Eyed Peas and Delta Goodrem scored their first number one singles and were on their way to dominate the top spot.
Other new acts to reach #1 included Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Dido, Shakira, Avril Lavigne, Mya and Enrique Iglesias.
Hip hop proved ever popular, with number one success for the likes of Kanye West, R. Kelly, Busta Rhymes, Nelly and Lil' Kim.
Madonna finally established herself among the chart's 10 most successful acts in Australia.
Novelty hits came along via the likes of Crazy Frog ("Axel F."), Bob the Builder ("Can We Fix It?"), Las Ketchup ("The Ketchup Song") and Baha Men ("Who Let the Dogs Out?").
Australian reality TV talent shows (eg. "Australian Idol") spawned a series of chart-topping singers, including Anthony Callea, Paulini, Guy Sebastian, Scott Cain, Scandul'us and Shannon Noll.
Elvis Presley returned to the chart summit for the first time since the early 70s due to a JXL remix of his old song "A Little Less Conversation".
