JAMIE
Eddie Holland
1961
U.S.A. #30
Trivia:
While the early Motown single "Jamie" did not make a major splash outside of the U.S.A., where it peaked at #6 on the Soul Chart, Eddie Holland would soon prove to be integral to the success of the record label. He was part of the songwriting team (along with his brother Brian and Lamont Dozier) that created a bounty of Motown classics that include: "Where Did Our Love Go", "Baby Love", "Can't Help Myself", "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)", "Nowhere To Run", "Stop! In The Name Of Love" and "Reach Out, I'll Be There".
