If You Don’t Know Me By Now

"If You Don't Know Me By Now" was a love song written by the songwriting and production team consisting of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Various versions have been recorded. The best known is by British group Simply Red. In 1989, this remake topped the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #2 in the UK. The single also reached #1 in Australia and New Zealand. 

In 1972, the original version of the ballad was released by the group Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. Produced by Gamble & Huff for the Philadelphia International label, the soul classic topped the US R&B Chart. On the Pop Hot 100, the disc reached #3.
