REAL MEN
Joe Jackson
1982
When Joe Jackson released his hit album 'Night And Day', the focus soon landed on "Steppin' Out". That single peaked at #6 on both sides of the Atlantic. Delving further into the LP, one discovered a thought-provoking track: "Real Men". Dealing with gender and what it means to be a male, the song deserved to be a chart smash. It did make the Australian Top 10 and showed up on some European charts, but totally sank in the U.S.A. and Britain.
This regular segment looks back on
recordings that deserved to become popular singles but failed to attract
attention and sales. Check out the special Caffé Latté playlist on spotify to
finally discover these releases.
