Caffè Lattè looks back on the most essential Biopics. These films cover the lives of significant musicians or key moments in their career. The movies are presented in chronological order.

WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT (1993)

Angela Bassett stars as the legendary female rocker Tina Turner, for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.

 

 

 

BACKBEAT (1994)

Retracing the early formative years of The Beatles, It stars Stephen Dorff as pre-fame band member Stuart Sutcliffe.

 

 The film poster shows Selena Quintanilla-Pérez grinning over a live concert. The background is dark with faint faces of those in attendance to the concert, with the names of the two lead actors.
