Bruce Springsteen wrote "Blinded By The Light". The original version was his debut single, released in 1973. Three years later, British group Manfred Mann's Earth Band issued a cover which is the only US #1 written or performed by Springsteen (excluding his vocal contribution on "We Are The World" as part of U.S.A. For Africa).
