TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS {EXPANDED EDITION}
#1381 TWIST AND SHOUT The Beatles
The debut Beatles album 'Please Please Me' was dropped in 1963. It featured Lennon & McCartney originals and some covers, including "Twist and Shout", written by Phil Medley and Bert Russell. It was re-released in 1986 due to its use in the film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'.
#1382 THE PIPER Abba
While ABBA's "The Piper" contains the band's trademark hooks, it has a medieval feel with Janne King prominently on the flute. Both Agnetha Faltskog and Frida Lyngstad share lead vocals. Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson co-wrote this track for 1980's 'Super Trouper' album.
#1383 MY WORLD IS EMPTY WITHOUT YOU The Supremes
The Supremes recorded "My World Is Empty Without You" in 1965 and the poignant song written by Motown's Eddie & Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier charted the following year.
#1384 FRIENDS NEVER SAY GOODBYE Elton John
Elton John re-united with his previous 'The Lion King' lyricist Tim Rice for the Dreamworks animated feature 'The Road To El Dorado' in 2000. "Friends Never Say Goodbye" was the 2nd single lifted off the film's soundtrack album.
#1385 NESSUN DORMA Luciano Pavarotti
Luciano Pavarotti's reading of his signature aria "Nessun Dorma" features the London Philharmonic Orchestra and was released in 1972. Giacomo Puccini started writing it for his "Turandot". Franco Alfano, Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni completed it after his death.
The list is a ranking made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I
cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks.
Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have
universal appeal.
They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal
choice.This expanded section now includes songs from the last few years. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
5 new songs are added every day from #1201-1500
