#219 BROWN EYED GIRL Van Morrison
After quitting his group Them, Van Morrison's musical career was on hold. Producer Bert Berns managed to persuade the Irish performer to launch a solo career. This new phase was kickstarted with his 'Blowin' Your Mind' album in 1967. "Brown Eyed Girl" was the LP's hit single. The song was penned by Morrison and produced by Berns. Its original working title was "Brown- Skinned Girl". The single reached #10 in America, It remains a standout in Morrison's songbook.
 
This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice.
