Trivia:
Gene McDaniels is remembered not only for his R&B recordings such as "Chip Chip", but for his songwriting and production work. He penned "Feel Like Makin' Love" and "Compared To What" by Roberta Flack. McDaniels also produced recordings by Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Floaters and Nancy Wilson. He passed away in 2011.
