CAFFE` LATTE` TOP 2000 TRACKS

#179 ON THE RADIO Donna Summer
The hit single "On The Radio" served as a fitting farewell to the disco genre and the 1970s for Donna Summer. The singer co-wrote the song with producer Giorgio Moroder. Other frequent collaborators were involved too: Harold Faltermeyer contributed piano and keyboards, Keith Forsey provided drums and percussion. Among the horn section was respected session musician Jerry Hey.
The song was the title track for Summer's first official compilation album 'On The Radio: Greatest Hits Volumes 1 & 2', issued in late 1979. The song was also used in the film 'Foxes'; a film starring Jodie Foster. Other acts on the film soundtrack album included Janis Ian (with "Fly Too High") and Cher ("Bad Love").
In 1979, Summer was musical hot property. The single was Summer's follow-up release after her #1 duet with Barbra Streisand: "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)". "On The Radio" peaked at #5 in the USA and reached the Top 10 on the Soul and Disco charts there. The disc also cracked the Top 40 in Britain, Australia and parts of Europe.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
A new song from the Top 200 is added each day, while another 2 are also included from positions 1501-2000 daily. Check back here every 12 hours for an update of the 2000.
