Macron won the French election. Trump
was inaugurated. Teresa May lost her majority in an unnecessary British
election. Robert Mugabe lost his long-held power in Zimbabwe.
Australia finally legalized same sex
marriage after putting the population through an unnecessary and wasteful
voting survey.
#MeToo and the Silence Breakers brought
down media figures that included Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer and Kevin Spacey.

inroads into the mainstream.
As “Game Of Thrones” headed towards its
final season, ‘The Last Jedi’ premiered.

Italy selects its Eurovision entry at the San Remo Music Festival. Elodie competed in the Grand Final hoping to be chosen as the Italian entry for 2017. Her song "Tutta Colpa Mia" translates as "All My Fault". The single peaked at #12 on the Italian chart.

OCCIDENTALI'S KARMA
Francesco Gabbani
Italy's Eurovision entry in 2017 was "Occidentali's Karma" performed by Francesco Gabbani. As the Song Contest began, it was the favourite to win. Italy is one of the "Big 5" countries that automatically appear in the Grand Final, giving the song an advantage. After the Semi Finals, Bulgaria and the ultimate winner Portugal were getting better betting odds. Italy finished 6th.

"Chained To The Rhythm" was the lead single from Katy Perry's 2017 album release 'Witness'. The single which features vocals from Jamaican performer Skip Marley was a Top 10 smash in America, Britain, Europe, Brazil, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.
