I WOULD DIE 4 U
Featured on the 'Purple Rain' film and its soundtrack album, "I Would Die 4 U" would be lifted as a single. It made the US Top 10 in 1984.

CONTROVERSY
Released in 1981, the title track from Prince's 'Controversy' album, peaked at #3 on the American Soul Chart. It features Prince on all instruments with Lisa Coleman on backup vocals.

LET'S GO CRAZY
In 1984, "Let's Go Crazy" was issued as the follow-up to Prince's smash "When Doves Cry". The result was a 2nd visit to #1 in America for Prince. This was the opening track on the 'Purple Rain' soundtrack LP.

RASPBERRY BERET
Following the success of 'Purple Rain', Prince issued 'Around The World In A Day' the next year. Its first single (in most territories) was "Raspberry Beret", which made the Top 3 on the US Pop and R&B Charts in 1985. This was the first single issued on Prince's Paisley Park label.

KISS
The lead single from 1986's 'Parade' album was "Kiss". With a reference to the night-time TV soap "Dynasty", the single was a crossover success, topping the US Pop, Soul and Dance charts. In Britain, the disc peaked at #6.
TOP 60
PRINCE TRACKS
This year, Prince would have turned 60 years of age. Caffé Latté marks the occasion with a countdown of the prolific artist’s 60 best recordings, one for every year since his birth in Minneapolis on June 7, 1958.

LITTLE RED CORVETTE
Prince amped up the sexuality for "Little Red Corvette", the 2nd single from his '1999' album which was issued in 1983. It made the Top 10 in America, Britain, Canada and Australia.

PURPLE RAIN
The 3rd single lifted off the 'Purple Rain' album was its title track. The previous 2 had both reached #1. "Purple Rain" peaked at #2 on the US Hot 100 and reached the UK Top 10 during 1984.

1999
Nuclear annihilation never sounded as funky as it did on the title song fromPrince's '1999' album. The disc dealt with impending apocalyptic doom. Prince suggested that we might as well party! It proved prophetic enough to become ubiquitous as the actual year 1999 drew to its conclusion amid fears of the Y2K bug.

SIGN O' THE TIMES
Marvin Gaye had "What's Going On" and Prince's snapshot of 1987 was "Sign O' The Times", the title track from an album he released 6 weeks later. The project was initially going to be an album entitled 'Dream Factory'. It then grew into a triple album to be named 'Crystal Ball'. By the time it was unleashed, 'Sign O' The Times' had been reduced to a double album. The single topped the R&B Chart and made the Pop Top 10 on the American and British charts.

WHEN DOVES CRY
Prince handled all of the instruments and vocals on this international hit. "When Doves Cry" was contained on the 'Purple Rain' soundtrack album. In 1984, the single topped the American, Canadian and Australian charts. In the UK, it peaked at #4. It returned to the US Top 10 following Prince's death in 2016.
