THIS CENTURY’S TOP 100
€UROVISION
SONGS
Here are 100 songs that stand out – some won, some qualified for
the Grand Final while others were culled early; but each one carried its
nation’s hopes for Eurovision glory in the annual music event.
AFRODISIAC
Eleftheria
Eleftheriou
GREECE 2012
This song's #17 final ranking was disappointing given its appeal and upbeat feel.
CALM AFTER THE STORM
The Common Linnets
NETHERLANDS 2014
In Copenhagen, only 2 entries received over 200 points in the 2014 ESC Grand Final: winning song "Rise Like A Phoenix" and this country-flavoured track which gave the Dutch second place. This remains one of the best entries ever from The Netherlands.
I'M NOT AFRAID TO MOVE ON
Jostein Hasselgård
NORWAY 2003
This century has seen Norway emerge as a serious contender at Eurovision, even if some of the country's strong offerings have failed to achieve high results. This was a ballad that finished in 4th position in the Grand Final held in Riga.
GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY
Elina Born & Stig Rasta
ESTONIA 2015
Recent Estonian entries have reflected a more concerted effort to showcase the quality on offer in the country. This duet oozed fun and cool attitude. It claimed 7th place in the Grand Final which took place in Vienna.
HEAR THEM CALLING
Greta Salóme
ICELAND 2016
Iceland has participated at Eurovision 32 times. All of the other Scandinavian countries have won at least once. Iceland remains the exception. This interesting entry deserved to fare better, yet it did not qualify for the Grand Final in nearby Stockholm.
