THE NEEDLE AND THE DAMAGE DONE
Neil Young
1972
U.S.A. #31
Trivia:
"The Needle And The Damage Done" deals with addiction. It was specifically inspired by the heroin addiction of Danny Whitten, a guitarist in Neil Young's backing band Crazy Horse. The song was issued as a double A-sided single with "Old Man". Both tracks were lifted off the Canadian singer / songwriter's 'Harvest' album.
