Whether you are a Eurovision newbie or the whole
annual contest has left you baffled, here’s a quick guide to how the Eurovision
Song Contest works. Impress others with your knowledge of the annual event with
a daily lesson that will provide you with everything you need to know about
Eurovision!
WHEN?
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest
begins on May 12. The action begins that day with the first Semi- Final where
17 entries will battle it out for a place in the Grand Final. The 10 countries
with the highest scores will progress.
May 14 sees another 18 songs compete
in Semi-Final 2. That night, 8 more entries will be culled.
The 20 most successful songs from the
2 Semi-Finals will then perform again in the Grand Final which will be held on
Saturday May 16 at 9 pm CEST.
