were added to avoid confusion with another song with the same title out at
the time, by Dolly Parton. Both topped the US Hot 100. Sheena Easton’s “9 To
5” proved the most successful, reaching #1 in Canada, Australia and New
Zealand. In Britain, the disc peaked at #3.

Just as ‘Silk Degrees’ had its big ballad “We’re All Alone”,
so too did ‘Middle Man’ contain this love song. Penned by Boz Scaggs and
