200
MOST RECOMMENDED ALBUMS
Some are the best selling, while others may be obscure, but the albums listed here are all worthy of a listen. No compilation/ best of sets. Only exceptional live albums included. This is a personal listing of the albums I enjoy the most to this day.
#50
RUBBER SOUL: THE BEATLES

 [1965]
Of all the albums found in this Top 50, 'Rubber Soul' will arguably always be the most studied. Its place in rock and pop culture is undiminished decades later. The track listing reveals a group that has finely tuned its songcraft and musicianship. John Lennon and Paul McCartney contribute the album's greatest treasures, but George Harrison demonstrates his emerging skill at composition with his 2 offerings: "Think For Yourself" and "If I Needed Someone". Ringo Starr also has a co-writing credit on "What Goes On" which features him on lead vocals. The album has adventurous tracks, with new instruments introduced into the rock arsenal, most notably the sitar in "Norwegian Wood". Lyrically, the most moving songs are "Nowhere Man" and "In My Life". The album boasts 2 memorable ballads: "Michelle" and "Girl". There is truly something for everyone on this classic release from the most influential rock group in history.
Highiight tracks: Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown); In My Life; Michelle & Nowhere Man.
