British drum and bass act Sigma released "Cry" in 2016. The track featured vocals by UK pop group Take That. In Britain, the song peaked at #21 and charted in various European nations.

American country group Little Big Town released "Girl Crush" in late 2014. It was included on its 'Pain Killer' album that year. In 2015, the track topped the US Country Chart for 13 weeks and reached #18 Pop. The following year, the recording collected Grammy Awards, including Country Song Of The Year. This exposure brought the track to the attention of a wider audience.

'Blurryface' from the American group Twenty One Pilots came out in 2015. "Stressed Out" saw the innovative band break through internationally. As well as reaching #2 in America, the song climbed to #12 in Britain. It was a Top 10 smash in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Israel during 2016.

THE HUNGRY HEARTS featuring LISA DILLAN
One of the contenders for Norway's 2016 Eurovision entry was "Laika" by The Hungry Hearts. The track, featuring Lisa Dillan, was based on the story of the 1st animal to orbit the earth. Russia's canine hero died during the space journey. The dance track was unsuccessful in its ESC bid, losing to "Icebreaker" which failed to qualify for the Grand Final.

ADELE
'25' swiftly became one of the best selling albums of all-time upon its release in late 2015. "Million Years Ago" is a moving ballad included on the record-breaking disc that continued selling solidly well into 2016. The British singer co-wrote the song.

ZOE
Austria was represented at Eurovision in 2016 by singer/ songwriter Zoë Straub. She co-wrote "Loin D'Ici" with her father- and member of the group Papermoon- Christof Straub. The song finished 7th in Semi-Final 1. At the Grand Final, the sweet song came 13th out of 26 countries.
