BEFORE IT WAS A HIT SONG…
These songs are well known
but you may not know about the earlier attempts to score a hit record with
prior versions of the same song.
The Price Of Love
Roxy Music had split when Bryan Ferry released a new solo album entitled 'Let's Stick Together'. In 1976, the LP proved popular. Its title track was a hit. It was followed up by an E.P. which featured the album track"The Price Of Love". The disc made the Top 10 in Britain, parts of Europe and Australia.
"The Price Of Love" was penned by Don and Phil Everly. The Everly Brothers recorded the original version of the song, releasing it as a single in 1965. It failed to make the US Top 40 but peaked at #2 in the UK.
