EUROVISION 2019: THE DOZEN TO WATCH (Part 1). Continues next weekend.
EUROVISION
SONG CONTEST 2019
THE DOZEN TO WATCH
The Eurovision Song Contest begins in
Tel Aviv on May 14.
Here are 12 entries that are the ones to
watch closely from this year’s crop of songs:
XII
TRUTH
(AZERBAIJAN)
Azerbaijan rarely disappoints and this year’s entry “Truth” is a
contemporary song which should prove popular. Will this give Azerbaijan its
second Eurovision win?
XI
CHAMELEON (MALTA)
“Chameleon” evokes memories of last year’s runner-up “Fuego” and
the same formula could see Malta finally achieve its first much sought after
Eurovision victory.
X
REPLAY (CYPRUS)
An upbeat dance song took Cyprus closer than ever before to its
first win at Eurovision in 2018. This year, “Replay” sticks so closely to its
previous entry “Fuego” that it is almost identical. Will the same strategy pay
off for Cyprus?
IX
TELEMOVEIS (PORTUGAL)
Portugal’s song is like no other Eurovision entry before it. “Telemoveis” brings together exotic sounds to
create a hybrid that is a unique sonic experience. The stage presentation will
either intrigue or detract the audience. Could Portugal snatch a second victory
in 3 years?
