These songs are well known but you may not know about the
earlier attempts to score a hit record with prior versions of the same song.
Burning Love
Elvis Presley proved he could still be a chart force to be reckoned with in the early 1970s with a series of singles that included the smash hit "Burning Love". The disc reached the Top 10 in both America and the UK.
Presley's version was unleashed in August 1972. A few months prior, the original recording of "Burning Love" appeared on Arthur Alexander's eponymous album.
