Cover of an early Motown single in 1959 originally recorded by Barrett Strong. The Beatles had previously covered the song for the group’s ‘With The Beatles’ LP in 1963. In 1979, the new wave remake climbed to #5.

Supertramp
The lead single from the British band’s ‘Breakfast In America’ album. In both the UK and America, the disc reached the Top 10.

Disco song from a trio consisting of brothers born in Martinique. It is sometimes labeled with the subtitle “If You Should Go” in parenthesis.  The dance track peaked at #5 on the British chart.

The Knack
When The Knack emerged, there were high expectations. The American band was predicted to be as big as The Beatles. Debut LP ‘Get The Knack’ went gold in just a fortnight and went on to sell 5 million copies. This single was the follow-up to the group’s smash hit “My Sharona”.

Squeeze
Few discs capture the distinctly British flavor as effectively as this pop gem composed by the songwriting team of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook. Both were members of the group. The single reached #2 in the UK.

Written by drummer / guitarist Leroy Bell and bassist / keyboardist Casey James and produced by the former’s uncle Thom Bell, this song was a Stateside Top 10 hit for Elton John. The song was included on the E.P. ‘The Thom Bell Sessions’.
