€UROVISION
SONGS
Here are 100 songs that stand out – some won, some qualified for
the Grand Final while others were culled early; but each one carried its
nation’s hopes for Eurovision glory in the annual music event.
PARTY FOR EVERYBODY
Buranovskiye Babushki
RUSSIA

Only Loreen's "Euphoria" could beat the adorable Russian Grannies. They finished in second place with one of the most popular entries from a country that is often greeted with boos.
WAKE UP
Eliot
BELGIUM 2019
Recent years has seen a marked improvement in entries from Belgium. Despite its quality, Eliot Vassamillet's contemporary song did not qualify for the Grand Final.
LAS VEGAS
Martin Stenmarck
SWEDEN 2005
A slightly different approach from Sweden's schlager formula did not produce an encouraging result in the Grand Final. The entry deserved better than its #19 rank.
ARCADE
Duncan Laurence
NETHERLANDS 2019
Once the songs for the 2019 Contest were locked in, this song emerged as the favourite. "Arcade" never relinquished its lead and fulfilled expectations when it won on the night. The gentle minimalist approach paid off, resulting in a 5th Dutch victory.
O MIE
Aliona Moon
MOLDOVA 2013
Sung in Romanian, the title translates as "A thousand". Aliona Moon had sung backup on the previous year's "Lautar". "O Mie" was composed by that song's performer: Pasha Parfeny. Lyrics were written by Yuliana Scutaru. The ballad finished 11th in the Grand Final.
NON MI AVETE FATTO NIENTE
Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro

A song with defiant lyrics targetting terrorism, this inspiring Italian song finished in 5th place.
STRONGER EVERY MINUTE
Lisa Andreas
CYPRUS 2004
Cyprus first competed at Eurovision in 1981. It has yet to win, but has served up some strong entries, including this sweet love song which was voted 5th in the Grand Final.
FLYING THE FLAG (FOR YOU)
Scooch
UNITED KINGDOM 2007
Bubblegum pop, double entendre and humour were the key ingredients for this UK entry. On paper, one could be forgiven for thinking it was a perfect fit for the Eurovision audience, but, it ended the night ranked #22 out of 24 participants.
STRINGS OF MY HEART
Vanna
CROATIA 2001
Zagreb was the host city when Yugoslavia claimed ESC victory in 1989. As Croatia, it has yet to secure a win. This upbeat track was performed in English and fared well enough to claim 10th position.
GIVE ME YOUR LOVE
Fame
SWEDEN 2003
Another example of that Swedish schlager recipe that proved so popular at Eurovision in the early years of this century. This pop/ dance entry was ranked 5th in the Grand Final.
