Trivia:

"Southern Nights" was written by Allen Toussaint. He recorded the original version in 1975 but the song went nowhere. Glen Campbell made some changes and released his remake 2 years later.First, the single topped the US Adult Contemporary Chart. Next,it did the same on the Country equivalent. The song then crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100, eventually reaching the top.
