LIKE A PRAYER: MADONNA
[1989]
[1989]
Madonna's evolution continued on 'Like A Prayer': her best effort to date. Here, Madonna adds dimensions to the dance oriented fare of previous releases. On this album, Madonna explores different genres and grows as a recording artist. She collaborates with Prince on "Love Song", which is a disappointment given the talent of both artists. But this chocolate box offers many other flavours. There is much to enjoy elsewhere. Madonna's vocal delivery on her ballads is frequently overshadowed by her dance songs. On 'Like A Prayer', she drops some genuine gems: "Spanish Eyes", "Oh Father" and "Promise To Try". She caters to her dance fans too, with pop delights such as the empowering "Express Yourself" and the title track. Highlight
tracks: Dear Jessie; Like A Prayer & Cherish.
