CAN'T SLOW DOWN: LIONEL RICHIE
[1983]
[1983]
Yes, this album has dated over time, but it encapsulates an 80s pop star at his commercial peak. On 'Can't Slow Down', Lionel Richie builds significantly from his solo debut album. Finally having left The Commodores, Richie seems more confident as he explores new musical directions. There are the usual Richie AC ballads, but he also adds rock, funk and country to his tracks. It established Richie as one of the key acts in that decade's pop scene, as well as one of its most successful. Highlight
tracks: All Night Long (All Night); Running With The Night & Stuck on You.
