2016
Last year's Eurovision Song Contest was held in Stockholm, following a Swedish victory in 2015. Surprisingly, Australia was invited back but this time was required to qualify. With the ESC broadcast in the USA for the first time, Justin Timberlake was part of the interval during the Grand Final.
Russia was way ahead after Semi-Final 1 with a breathtaking and innovative stage presentation. Australia won the Second Semi. Both countries proved popular at the Grand Final. Russian entry "You Are The Only One" dominated the televoting. Australian Dami Im attracted the most jury votes. When all the totals were added up, Ukraine crept in front with 534 points. Im accumulated 511 points for "Sound Of Silence".
2017 brings the ESC back to the Ukraine, thanks to Jamala's win with "1944".
