One of the first songs Kate composed for the album, "Love And Anger" was also one of the last songs to be completed. It contains a guitar solo by (Pink Floyd's) David Gilmour.

With her record label eager to release a follow-up to her successful debut album, Kate mined her early song ideas to create her sophomore LP. "In Search Of Peter Pan" was penned prior to the release of 'The Kick Inside'.

Kate's label wanted to issue this as one of the parent album's second single. Kate pushed for "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" instead. Her choice prevailed.
