A new countdown begins here...

THE 50 MOST ESSENTIAL MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS. Today: #50-46. More: tomorrow.

Caffè Lattè presents:

THE MOST ESSENTIAL

MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS

For decades, songs and movies have been matched. The most successful are effective tools, cross-promoting both the music and the film in which they are featured; giving one or both longevity. Here are 50 Motion Picture Soundtrack Albums that evoke memories of the films they appeared in. The criteria was to include only movie soundtracks which consisted largely of new material, rather than a compilation of older songs or remakes.

TITANIC

1997

The ship may have sunk, but this soundtrack album rose to the top of the charts. ‘Titanic’ became a record-breaking box office hit which no doubt helped propel this soundtrack to reach #1 across Europe, America, Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Included on this album was Celine Dion’s international smash “My Heart Will Go On”. The soundtrack proved so successful that a follow-up entitled ‘Back To Titanic’ was issued the following year.
