IT’S STILL ROCK AND ROLL TO ME
Billy was aware that musical tastes had shifted by the time he started recording ‘Glass Houses’. He drew inspiration from the sound and attitude of punk and new wave. “It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me” finds Billy reflecting on the various trends that come and go. In the end, he concludes: “it’s the next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyways, it’s still rock and roll to me”. The lyrics must have resonated with the public as the single became Billy’s first #1 single, topping the American and Canadian charts. In Britain, the song made the Top 20 while it peaked at #10 in Australia.
