"Night Fever" was the zenith of 'Saturday Night Fever': a 1977 box office hit film depicting the disco scene. Before its release, the genre was losing momentum. The movie re-launched disco, lifting it to unprecedented new heights. The soundtrack became the best selling album of all time, beaten years later by 'Thriller'.

Loleatta Holloway
Written and produced by Dan Hartman, "Love Sensation" features mighty vocals from Loleatta Holloway. Released in 1980, it has been sampled numerous times; most notably on "Ride On Time", "I Don't Know Anybody Else" (both by Black Box) and "Good Vibrations" (Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch).

Donna Summer
Donna Summer's 'Bad Girls' album featured some innovative dance tracks, including the often overlooked "Sunset People". It was written by Pete Bellotte, Harold Faltermeyer and Keith Forsey. The former co-produced it with Giorgio Moroder.

The big beat dance hit "The Rockafella Skank" was issued in 1998. Lifted off the Fat Boy Slim album 'You've Come A Long Way, Baby', the single peaked at #6 in Britain.
