Hi-NRG and an androgynous lead singer (Pete Burns) propelled the UK group to #1 in Britain and Canada in 1984-5. "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" also charted high in Europe and Australia. It was the 1st #1 produced by the Stock, Aitken & Waterman team.

Bomfunk MC's
"Freestyler" meshed drum and bass with hip hop to create a 2000 hit for the Finnish group that reached #1 in Europe, Australia and New Zealand and #2 in Britain.

Voyage
Paris was a hub of Euro-disco, a bold new sound ushered in by its key architects: ABBA, Giorgio Moroder and Cerrone. French disco group Voyage found success in 1978 with the single "Souvenirs".

The Italo house hit "Feel It" featured Maya on vocals and sampled "Can You Feel It" by The Jacksons. It filled dancefloors in 1998.

Lonnie Gordon
New Yorker Gordon hit the top of the US Dance Chart thrice. Her 3rd #1 was "Happenin' All Over Again". The song first came out in 1990 and has been remixed in subsequent years.

Walter Murphy & The Big Apple Band
Classical music from composer Beethoven was set to a disco beat for the US #1 single "A Fifth Of Beethoven". The instrumental later was added to the 'Saturday Night Fever' soundtrack album.

Utah Saints
"Something Good" had clubbers dancing to a sample of the Kate Bush song "Cloudbusting". The unlikely match was a hit in 1992 for the British techno-rave duo.

Blondie
New wave performer Debbie Harry (from Blondie) co-wrote "Call Me" with disco producer Giorgio Moroder. The 2 worlds merged well enough to send the disc hurtling to #1 in the US and UK in 1980.
