The Swingers

1981

The Swingers, a rock group from New Zealand, scored a chart-topping smash in their homeland and in Australia with "Counting The Beat". Lead singer Phil Judd had previously been a founding member of compatriots Split Enz. The Swingers based themselves in Australia prior to the release of the hit single.
