WHEN SHE WAS MY GIRL
The Four Tops
1981 UK #3; US #11
Trivia: The Four Tops had failed to crack the Top 40 since 1973. That changed with the release of "When She Was My Girl". The former Motown vocal group had switched labels to ABC Dunhill and this single was its first with Casablanca Records. It also became the first Four Tops disc to top the R&B Chart since "Reach Out I'll Be There" in 1966.
