PUTTING IT TOGETHER

Streisand faced resistance when she proposed the idea of an album of Broadway songs. She had used the 1970s to establish herself as a contemporary interpreter and there was a risk her Broadway project would have been seen as a backward move. “Putting It Together” is a Stephen Sondheim song from the musical “Sunday In The Park With George”. Dialogue is interwoven citing the objections Streisand had faced for her album concept. These spoken segments were contributed by Sydney Pollack, David Geffen and Ken Sylk. Unleashed in 1985, ‘The Broadway Album’ became one of Streisand’s best selling releases.

GOLDEN DAWN

George Michael’s “Jesus To A Child” inspired the creation of the bossa nova song "Golden Dawn" on ‘Guilty Pleasures’. This was the first song written for the project. Barry Gibb this time co-wrote the track with his sons Ashley and Stephen.
