GET HAPPY / HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN
The meeting of 2 iconic women of music: Streisand and Judy Garland. This medley was performed on “The Judy Garland Show” which was screened live on US TV on October 6. The duet was included on the 1991 box set ‘Just For The Record…’ and again on the 2002 ‘Duets’ compilation.

This track from ‘The Way We Were’ studio album was recorded on March 10, 1970 in Hollywood, California.

I’VE NEVER BEEN A WOMAN BEFORE
Streisand enjoyed 2 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Album Chart with her studio album ‘The Way We Were’. The LP was around at the same time as the soundtrack to her hit film of the identical name. This track was recorded on April 30, 1970 in New York.

BEING AT WAR WITH EACH OTHER
This cover of a Carole King composition, recorded on December 14, 1973 in Los Angeles, was originally intended for Streisand’s ‘The Singer’ album project. Plans for that LP were shelved and some tracks wound up on her “The Way We Were’ album.

DE RÊVE EN RÈVERIE
In 1977, “Evergreen” was released as a single recorded by Streisand in French, Spanish and Italian. The disc was entitled “De Rêve En Rèverie” in its French form. In Italian, it was named “Sempreverde”. The Spanish version’s title is “Tema De Amor De Nace Una Estrell”.

TOMORROW NIGHT
Drama and comedy collide on this song from the ‘Yentl’ movie soundtrack. In the film, Streisand sings about her dilemma on the eve of her wedding night. What her bride does not know is that Streisand’s character is not a man, but a woman.

Arguably one of Streisand’s unlikeliest collaborations, this track from her ‘Emotion’ album consists of her lyrics and music composed by John Mellencamp. Albhy Galuten is back as producer (after co-producing her ‘Guilty’ LP). The track features session musicians Joe Porcaro, Steve Lukather (Toto), Don Felder (Eagles) and James Newton Howard.

BEING ALIVE
This upbeat song from ‘Company’ was penned by Stephen Sondheim. Streisand’s remake is found on her ‘The Broadway Album’.
