Recorded in June 1967, “Fakin’ It” benefitted from input from John Simon. Columbia had recruited him to assist in the production of some tracks on ‘Bookends’. Soon after the LP’s release, he produced The Band’s ‘Music From Big Pink’.

Simon’s ‘There Goes Rhymin’ Simon’ was nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy in 1974. He lost out to Stevie Wonder’s ‘Innervisions’. “Learn How To Fall” was on the former LP.

“I Know What I Know” was inspired by General MD Shirinda & The Gaza Sisters who played on the track on ‘Graceland’.

Art Garfunkel
Hal David and Albert Hammond wrote “99 Miles From L.A.” from Garfunkel’s second solo album ‘Breakaway’.

ALL AROUND THE WORLD OR THE MYTH OF FINGERPRINTS
Paul Simon
Los Lobos played on “All Around The World Or The Myth Of Fingerprints”. Following the ‘Graceland’ sessions, relations between the band and Simon soured. They argued that they should have received songwriting credit on the track.
