1994
Ireland entered the record books in 1994, scoring a record-breaking sixth Eurovision win. This Contest also marked the only time one nation has secured three consecutive wins. It was in this year that Riverdance was featured as the interval act.
The Eurovision family expanded with the debut of 7 new competing nations. Most still take part, with the exception of Slovakia and Hungary (absent since 2012 and 2019 respectively).
