DESIRE
Andy Gibb
1980
U.S.A. - #4
Trivia:
"Desire" was penned by Andy Gibb's older brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb (The Bee Gees) for his 'After Dark' album. It has been reported that the trio had originally recorded the song as part of the sessions for the group's 'Spirits Having Flown' album. It was culled but re-tweaked for Andy. At the time, the latter was struggling with his drug addiction. "Desire" was his last US Top 10 hit. By the end of 1981, Robert Stigwood had dropped him from the RSO label. Andy's cocaine habit meant that he would never record another album. He passed away in March 1988, at the age of 30.
