Since the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest, 51 countries have competed in the annual event. This look back features each country in order of appearance and highlights that nation’s best entry so far.

Only 3 years after its Eurovision debut, Latvia hosted the Song Contest in Riva. That same year, one of this century’s most successful ESC participants competed for the first time: the Ukraine. This nation has introduced viewers to unforgettable performers such as Ruslana (whose “Wild Dances” won in 2004) and (runner-up) Verka Serduchka.
Of the 26 competing nations, Turkey claimed victory with "Everyway That I Can".
