Trivia:

Billy Griffin replaced Smokey Robinson as lead vocalist for The Miracles in 1972. The legendary Motown group scored its second US #1 with "Love Machine". The album version ran for almost 7 minutes on the 'City of Angels' LP. It was split over the 2 sides of the single release.
