We are all familiar with the signature hit songs such as “Candle In The Wind”, “Tiny Dancer”, “Rocket Man”, “I’m Still Standing”, “Daniel”, “Crocodile Rock”, “Your Song” and “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me”. Elton’s songbook is so rich, further exploration reveals a treasure trove of gems just as deserving of attention. Caffè Lattè presents 100 deep cuts -compiled in chronological order- spanning the decades, from 1969 to the present. DEEP CUTS

DUETS {1993}

Elton’s next project was the ‘Duets’ album, featuring collaborations with acts as diverse as Little Richard, Gladys Knight, Don Henley, Tammy Wynette and Leonard Cohen. Its release was preceded by the global chart-topper “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me”, re-recorded as a duet with George Michael and included on the album. A solo track entitled “Duets For One” closes the LP.

72 Teardrops

Elton teamed up with fellow gay icon K.D. Lang for a remake of Womack & Womack’s “Teardrops”. Recorded in Hollywood, Greg Penny produced the cut. Strings were arranged and conducted by Arif Mardin.

73 I'm Your Puppet

The 1966 soul hit by James & Bobby Purify was covered by Elton and British singer Paul Young. The 2 singers recorded the track in Hollywood with Steve Lindsey at the helm. Greg Phillinganes contributed piano on the duet.

74 Love Letters

Dating back to 1945, “Love Letters” was a hit for Ketty Lester in 1962. Bonnie Raitt shares vocal duties with Elton on their remake. He plays piano while she contributes slide guitar. The track also features Ricky Fataar on drums and Billy Preston on organ. Don Was produced the recording.
