🟩 Rubin played an integral role in the evolution of hip-hop. After co-founding Def Jam, he produced influential albums that include The Beastie Boys’ ‘Licensed To Ill’, Run-D.M.C.’s ‘Raiding Hell’ and Public Enemy’s ‘It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back’. Rubin then expanded his musical horizons, applying his skill on recordings by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mick Jagger Tom Petty, and Johnny Cash.

🟢 Initially part of a songwriting / production team with Nicky Chinn, but Australian producer Mike Chapman dominated British pop in the 1970s-80s. He helmed hits by Suzi Quatro, Divinyls, Pat Benatar, Nick Gilder and- notably- “Heart Of Glass” (Blondie) and “My Sharona” (The Knack).
