THE ALL-TIME TOP RECORD PRODUCERS. This post: #25-21. Continues tomorrow.
Caffè Lattè presents
THE GREATEST
RECORD🎚PRODUCERS
🎛25 RICHARD PERRY
🟢 Perry was the go-to producer in the 1970s-80s. Many acts tasted success after he added his magic touch. He was at the helm on hits by Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon, Ringo Starr, Leo Sayer, Pointer Sisters, Harry Nilsson and Manhattan Transfer.
🎛24 SYLVIA ROBINSON
⚪️While rap music was perceived as a male domain, there
is no disputing the influence of Sylvia Robinson. She had been a recording
artist before launching Sugar Hill Records. “Rapper’s Delight” was the first
rap song to crack the Top 40 in the U.S.A. Robinson produced the track and another seminal rap hit: "The Message".
🎛23 JERRY WEXLER
🔲 While at Atlantic Records, Wexler helped that label mould soul music through recordings he directed for greats such as Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin.
🎛22 MICHAEL JACKSON
⏬Once allowed greater autonomy over his music, Jackson’s career was on a new trajectory. He steered his solo output as well as projects by The Jacksons, Diana Ross and others.
🎛21 BRIAN WILSON
❒ Wilson’s visions for many of The Beach Boys’ classic tracks defied reality, but somehow, he made them come to fruition. It cost him his sanity and tested his relationship with the other members of the group, but the legacy is largely due to his persistence and brilliance. Among his sublime creations are: “Good Vibrations”, “God Only Knows” and “California Girls”.
