Follow-up “Nasty” peaked at #3. “When I Think Of You” became her first chart-topping single. Conversely, all of the LP’s singles topped the Soul Chart with the latter being the only exception (it reached #3). In the UK, the disc peaked at #10.

Michael Jackson
Siedah Garrett and Glen Ballard co-wrote this inspiring song that was included on the ‘Bad’ album. In 1988, the disc topped the US Pop and Soul charts. First time around, it also climbed to #21 in Britain. In the wake of Michael’s death, the song was re-released. This time, the song improved on its previous peaks in the UK (#2), Europe (#7) and Australia (#8).

The Jacksons
When first released, this track from ‘Triumph’ was entitled “Heartbreak Hotel”. It was later re-titled “This Place Hotel”. In the lyrics, its original title has been retained. Michael penned the track. The disc peaked at #22 Pop and #2 Soul in 1980.

THE LOVE YOU SAVE
The Jackson 5
Once launched by Motown Records, the brothers scored four consecutive US #1 singles. This was the group’s third. As had been the case with its predecessors, the hit was written and produced by Motown staffers who worked under the moniker ‘The Corporation’. The disc made the Top 10 in the UK and Canada.
