Soul singer Jimmy Ruffin is best remembered for his 1966 Motown hit "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted". While "Farewell Is A Lonely Sound" completely missed the US chart, the single charted twice in the UK. It peaked at #8 in 1970 and was re-issued in 1974 and climbed to #30.
