EUROVISION 2024
THE 37 SONGS
(in order of preference)
The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has remained the same with Romania withdrawing and Luxembourg returning after an absence of 31 years. This year, the ESC will be held in host city Malmö, Sweden in May following that country’s seventh win in 2023. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the 37 entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song.
This year, all of the 37 entries have redeeming qualities. Unusually, there is no major standout, but none of the songs for the 2024 Contest are woeful. Therefore, even the songs at the bottom are not there because of low appeal, but because the ones ranked higher are slightly superior.
*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song once the Semi-Finals begin.

LIAR
Silia Kapsis
Cyprus
Although of Greek and Cypriot descent, Silia Kapsis was born and raised in Australia. The song is far from remarkable. Cyprus seems to be sending entries that sound similar of late. “Liar” should qualify for the Grand Final, but it will not bring the country its first Eurovision victory.
24
ZORRA
Nebulossa
Spain
Spain has gone with a new approach. The country’s entry will be performed in Spanish by the duo Nebulossa. Its two members wrote “Zorra”. The title means “vixen”.
23
HOLLOW
Dons
Latvia
Latvia will be competing in Semi-Final 2 with the power ballad “Hollow”. The song is in English now although it was initially in Latvian. This is a pleasant song and Dons should deliver it with conviction. He deserves to qualify for the Grand Final, but it is in a tough heat.
22
ÖZUNLE APAR
Fahree featuring Ilkin Dovletov
Azerbaijan
FAHREE co-wrote Azerbaijan’s entry. Its title means “take me with you” and will be performed in Azerbaijani and English. The song should stand out from the bulk of the competition in Semi-Final 1. FAHREE will be on stage with Ilkin Dovletov.
21
THE TOWER
Luna
Poland
LUNA can write songs in both English and Polish. She contributed to the creation of “The Tower”. It will be sung in English during the first Semi-Final. This song is catchy and moves. Hopefully, it won’t be overshadowed by its competitors as this deserves a slot in the Grand Final.
