The Righteous Brothers
The Righteous Brothers consisted of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. Best remembered for the hit “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’”, the duo recorded “Unchained Melody” in 1965. That year, the single reached #4 in America and #14 in Britain. The song faded away into obscurity until it was used in an unforgettable scene in the 1990 film ‘Ghost’. Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze were at the pottery wheel being very suggestive. The public fell in love with the song all over again. Re-issued, the single topped charts in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Second time around, the disc proved to be even more popular. It was Britain's best-selling single of 1990. In America, the re-release climbed to #19 and a newly recorded version reached #13.
