MUSIC ACROSS THE OLYMPIADS. Today: 1916- 12. Continues tomorrow.
As the world’s elite athletes compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Caffè Lattè will focus on the best music that emerged during each Olympiad. Each period considers songs from the years prior to the new Games.
SONGS ACROSS THE OLYMPIADS
The Olympic Games were cancelled for the first time in its 20-year history due to the outbreak of World War One. Berlin was scheduled to be the host city. The Games resumed in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Al Jolson was one of the most popular recording artists around this time as talking pictures began replacing silent films.
