#313 HISTORY REPEATING Propellerheads featuring Shirley Bassey
Propellerheads is a duo that formed in Bath, England in 1996 and consisted of DJs Alex Gifford and Will White. The former had played keyboards for Irish vocalist Van Morrison and saxophone for the British new wave group The Stranglers. When the time came for Gifford to record his own material, he recruited White. The local drummer agreed to form a duo. 
In 1997, Propellerheads collaborated with Shirley Bassey on the Gifford composition "History Repeating". He also produced the track. The single reached #19 in the UK and 10 on the US Dance Chart. The song was included on the duo's 'Decksandrugsandrockandroll', which was released in 1998. Bassey's vocals added a cool polish to the modern dance context.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice.
